A World of Paper, a World of Fashion at Bellevue Arts Museum

We invite you to explore the awe-inspiring, hand-crafted world of Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave at the Bellevue Arts Museum (BAM). This lead exhibit for Fall/Winter 2013, A World of Paper, a World of Fashion: Isabelle de Borchgrave meets Mariano Fortuny, will begin on November 21 until February 16. Over her 40-year career, de Borchgrave has made a name for herself with her virtuosic use of paper. Painting, pleating, crumpling, braiding, and feathering, she manipulates rag paper into exquisite life-size historical costumes covering more than 300 years of fashion from Elizabeth I to Coco Chanel. Fresh New Brews and Oktoberfest at Bellevue Brewing Company

This fall brings a new type of harvest - fresh hops. Our friends at Bellevue Brewing Company are taking advantage of the seasonal crops by creating their new craft beer, "Fresh Pop Ale." The team at Bellevue Brewing Company travels to the fields of Yakima in late August/early September to gather hops right as they are harvested for peak perfection. Then the craftsmen bring the hops directly to Bellevue to create the freshest flavored brews. This fantastic fall craft beer will be available for all to experience on October 1. Until then, Bellevue Brewing Company has also just released their Brown Ale which offers a seasonal, traditional English brown ale taste. Also, if you're looking for some fun while tasting these new beers, Bellevue Brewing Company hosts regular sporting parties on the big screen. Hosted events for these parties include the Eastside Sounders Support Group, Kirkland Oktoberfest, and all other Seattle home games include Sounders, Seahawks, and Mariners.
